saas.group is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its ScraperAPI team. ScraperAPI is an enterprise-scale web scraping solution used by businesses across many industries, and it is growing rapidly. The role focuses on the hard end of web scraping, where major sites such as Google, Amazon, and Walmart actively block scrapers and change their rules without warning. You will join a self-driven, high-autonomy team with room to build from close to a blank page.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing how specific anti-bot and bot-mitigation systems detect and block the company, and designing systems to work around them
- Turning isolated breakthroughs into durable, repeatable processes: hypothesis, test, discard what's wrong, move on
- Working with other senior team members to design and build a greenfield agentic environment that can propose and run tests on anti-bot behaviour and bypass approaches
- Working largely independently on deep problems while drawing on knowledge from the wider engineering team
- Communicating plans clearly and stepping into major incidents when needed
In the first 3-6 months, you will get a full local environment running and learn the systems in the first few weeks, contribute to a design proposal for a repeatable analysis environment, and build it out so that by month six it can be pointed at a target or provider to show how the company is being blocked.
