When I first started earning on Upwork, I was naive and was just happy to finally start earning on Upwork, so I was simply withdrawing via the direct-to-naira bank option. When I became wiser and got aware of something called black market rate, I almost cried when I later discovered how much I had been losing by withdrawing in Naira.
So, I then decided to get a Docimicilary account and was using wire transfer (it was 30 USD per transfer then) and also Payoneer to withdraw.
At some point, I got tired of Payoneer fees, and Upwork also decided to upgrade the wire transfer fee to $50 USD. That literally meant I need to find a better solution so I don’t lose ridiculous money on fees and charges.
