Google has introduced new business-focused features to its Gemini AI platform, giving small business owners tools to create branded marketing materials, analyse financial data, and gain customer insights from a central workspace.

Announced on October 20, 2026, the updates aim to help entrepreneurs simplify everyday operations and spend more time developing their businesses.

New Hub Connects Business Tools

The redesigned Gemini landing page brings together features for brand development, financial analysis, and audience insights. Users can connect Google services, including Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, alongside third-party apps such as Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.

These integrations allow Gemini to draw on connected business information to provide recommendations and support different workflows. However, using AI with sensitive financial and commercial data raises questions about privacy, data access and security.

AI Image Generation Adapts to Brand Identity

Gemini users can now upload their website, brand assets, fonts and colour palettes to guide image generation. Powered by Google's Nano Banana 2.1 image model, the feature is designed to produce consistent visual content for product launches and marketing campaigns.

Google says Gemini can retain a business's visual style, reducing the need for owners to repeatedly provide brand guidelines when creating new assets.

The capability could help small businesses maintain a consistent brand identity without relying on dedicated design teams.

Financial Analysis Gets an AI Upgrade

The platform can also transform spreadsheets, receipts, and purchase records into financial graphics and interactive models. The feature is intended to make business information easier to understand and help owners identify useful insights without manually sorting through large amounts of data.

Google highlighted examples of entrepreneurs using Gemini for product descriptions, social media content, customer service, business planning, and operational decisions.

One ceramic business owner in France, for instance, reportedly saves two to three hours daily by using the AI tool to prepare marketing content.

Privacy Remains a Key Consideration

While the new features could make business management more accessible, they also encourage users to connect more of their commercial information to AI systems. Businesses should understand data permissions, review connected applications, and avoid sharing sensitive information unnecessarily.

Google said the redesigned business hub, new marketing and finance capabilities, and connected-app support would begin rolling out globally to Gemini users in the coming days.

The expansion positions Gemini as more than a general-purpose chatbot, moving it towards an integrated assistant for small business branding, financial analysis, and day-to-day management.
