Why do you need to do that? You will simply get overwhelmed by things you shouldn't bother about.

The reality is that you do not need to keep up with every new trend or tool. Instead, it will be much better if you focus on constantly refining your craft and filtering out the noise.

Here are some things you can do:

  • Follow a few reliable sources instead of trying to read everything. A handful of quality newsletters, blogs, niche experts on LinkedIn and X, or YouTube channels is usually enough. However, be extremely careful of who you follow and ensure you don't follow fearmongers and influencers only looking for ways to farm engagements for their platforms.
  • Set aside regular learning time. Spending about 30 few minutes a few times each week can help you stay informed without feeling overwhelmed.
  • Pay attention to Upwork and LinkedIn job postings. They often reveal the skills, tools, and technologies that employers are currently looking for. This is actually the most definitive way to separate fact from fiction.
  • Be highly selective and smart. Not every trend is worth your time. Focus on developments that are gaining real adoption rather than chasing every new release. Also, please focus on relevant tools in your niche. Chasing after all tools and trends in all niches will get you nowhere. Unless you want to move into another niche, just stick to the useful trends in your own niche.

You should understand something though! Unless you are desperately trying to be an early adopter of a technology or tool, just by following relevant job posts on Upwork and LinkedIn, you will have an extremely good idea of what's actually getting people good jobs.

However, if you want to get into a tool extremely fast, then pick a handful of very reliable sources - could be LinkedIn, X, YouTube channels, blogs, etc., and keep up with them.

Even then, you won't miss out on any new tool if you only spend one hour per week on getting up to date with what's trending.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to focus on learning the tools that are already in demand! Chasing endlessly after trends when you are still lacking in your current tools is not a good idea at all.
