Reddit has rolled out new advertising tools that use artificial intelligence and campaign data to help brands plan campaigns, predict performance, and allocate advertising budgets more efficiently.
Announced on October 20, 2026, the updates introduce a campaign planner, a personalized campaign optimization score, and automated budget allocation. The features are designed to simplify advertising on Reddit and help marketers make more informed decisions before and during campaigns.
Reddit Adds AI-Powered Campaign Planner
The new campaign planner allows advertisers to estimate a campaign’s potential reach, impressions, and costs before launching it.
Advertisers can compare different campaign plans based on budgets, target audiences, advertising objectives and placements. Once they select a preferred plan, they can turn it into a draft campaign with just a few clicks.
The tool also uses Reddit Community Intelligence to provide insights into audience activity and discussions within targeted subreddits. These include information on how recently and consistently users have been active, alongside summaries of dominant conversation themes.
These insights could help brands better understand their intended audiences and develop advertising content that reflects the interests and discussions of Reddit communities.
Optimization Score Offers Personalized Recommendations
Reddit has also introduced a campaign optimization score that rates campaigns on a scale of 0% to 100%.
The score provides tailored recommendations during campaign creation and editing, helping advertisers identify opportunities to improve their campaign setup and performance.
According to Reddit, advertisers with optimization scores of at least 80% recorded 19.6% lower blended cost per acquisition (CPA) than those with lower scores.
The company also reported that a five-point increase in the score was associated with a 4.4% reduction in blended CPA during its measurement period.
These figures suggest that following the recommendations may help advertisers improve efficiency, although individual results can vary depending on campaign objectives, audiences, and other factors.
Automated Budget Allocation Targets Better-Performing Ads
The third update, campaign budget optimization (CBO), automates how advertising budgets are distributed across ad groups.
Instead of manually adjusting spending for each group, advertisers set budgets and bids at the campaign level. Reddit’s system then shifts more spending towards ad groups that perform better.
Reddit said advertisers using campaign budget optimization for traffic campaigns recorded 10% lower cost per click (CPC).
The feature is available across awareness and consideration, traffic, sales (beta), lead generation (beta) and app promotion (beta) objectives.
What the Updates Mean for Advertisers
The new tools could reduce the time marketers spend researching audiences, preparing media plans and manually adjusting campaign budgets. They may also help smaller businesses and less experienced advertisers navigate Reddit’s advertising platform.
For brands, the combination of audience insights, performance recommendations and automated spending offers a more data-driven approach to campaign management.
Reddit said the campaign planner and optimization score are rolling out to all advertisers throughout October, while campaign budget optimization is already available across the specified advertising objectives.
The changes form part of Reddit’s broader effort to make its advertising platform easier to use while helping businesses improve campaign performance.
