Skills Required:
- JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js: strong JavaScript/TypeScript, with deep, practical Node.js and Express experience
- React: strong React, including hooks, state management, and modern build tooling such as Vite
- Databases: real MongoDB experience, including schema design, indexing, aggregation, and knowing when a document database is the wrong choice
- Server operations: experience deploying and operating your own servers, including Linux, nginx, process managers, TLS, DNS, and reverse proxies
- Payments: experience writing code that handles money and understanding why it differs from other code
- Engineering practices: Git discipline, code review habits, and the ability to write tests that catch real regressions
- Codebase ownership: ability to pick up an unfamiliar codebase, understand it, and improve it without breaking it
- Communication: clear written English

LakChe LLC is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take full ownership of KonectX, its live community Wi-Fi platform. As the one engineer on one product, you will own features, deployment, and uptime, reporting to the CTO. The listing is not suited to engineers who have only worked on a narrow slice of a large system, who need fully specified tickets before starting, or who are uncomfortable being accountable for production uptime. Your work will include:
- Taking ownership of the existing KonectX codebase (React/Vite frontend, Node.js/Express API, and MongoDB) and bringing it to a completed, documented, and tested state
- Building the operator dashboard, covering hotspot management, voucher issuance, session monitoring, and earnings visibility
- Implementing and maintaining the revenue settlement engine, including multi-party splits, credit maturation windows, payout requests, and an auditable ledger
- Integrating payment rails for Nigeria and Francophone markets, including card, bank transfer, and mobile money
- Working on captive portal and router-side integration so sessions are recorded reliably on unstable links
- Maintaining and improving the Web3 layer, including $KXT balance accrual, distribution jobs, and wallet-facing views on Celo
- Owning deployment and uptime on the VPS estate, including nginx, PM2, Cloudflare, secret hygiene, backups, monitoring, and incident response
- Documenting work in Confluence and working with the CISO to close security items and keep the platform compliant with the NDPA 2023
